Alumnus Bio and Testimony

My name is Rev. Joseph Gonzalez. I live in Yorkhaven, PA, with my wife and four children. Our primary ministry is to the men and women who are incarcerated in the Cumberland County Prison in Carlisle, PA. Our main goal is to disciple the inmates through our pre-release program, place them with mentors in local churches after release, restore families, and other social needs.

I began my life on the streets of New York City, using drugs and alcohol, leading gangs, cutting class, and many other criminal activities. I was arrested many times and spent about 10 years in the county and state prisons of New York. In 1980, I was arrested and sent to Eastern Correctional Facility, where I met a Chaplain by the name of Richard Tanon. With love and patience, he led me to the Lord and began to disciple me. He also introduced me to Logos Bible College. It was a bible school inside the prison and, I believe, the only one of its kind in our nation at the time. At Logos, God began to call me into ministry.

I am presently enrolled in the graduate program seeking a Master of Divinity degree and I am an ordained minister with Logos Global Network. Our ministry, Great Harvest Ministries, is covered under the Logos umbrella as well. I want to thank Logos for being there for me, and all the others that are being trained, and have been trained, to do what God has called us do.

God Bless!
